About
I did my dissertation work with Dr Irene Pepperberg, studying Alex the parrot. In particular, I characterized Alex's phonetic repertoire and modeled the underlying vocal tract mechanisms. I have a continuing interest in animal cognition and communication.
For the last decade I have worked in neuroimaging: largely doing hardware and software support, analyses, building databases, and scripting. I enjoy this work very much.
Of late, I have become interested in connectivity analysis, both structural and functional, especially as it relates to understanding the language network in the brain.
