I retired from academia in 2005 after 41 years of teaching and research at The Ohio State University, the City University of New York (Brooklyn College & The Graduate Center) and the University of Arizona. From 2006 to 2008 I served as a Linguistics Program Director at the National Science Foundation in Arlington, Virginia. I am currently working as a 52-day/year Expert in the Robust Intelligence Program at NSF.
